He has been playing and teaching music professionally for more that 10 years. Throughout the years Max has been quite busy as a freelance drummer/percussionist playing live, studio, television and radio performances and he has spent a number of years traveling the world performing on cruise ships.
As a student, Max has studied with the following recognized drummers; Al Cross, Kevin Ball, Don Vickery, Roger Flock, Rick Lazar, Steve Heathcote, Paul Delong, Enrique Pla (drummer of Irakere), Jose Sanchez (percussionist with Amanda Marshall), Ben Perowsky, Brad Flickinger (drummer for ¨The Producers¨ L.A. production), Fredric Kwasi Dunyo (master drummer from West Africa), Ted Warren, and most recently Mark Kelso.
Max’s versatility as a drummer/percussionist has allowed him to amass an impressive list of performance credentials including; Charo, Bowzer, Freda Payne, The Drifters, The Coasters, Yakov Smirnoff, Hilario Duran (recent Juno award winner www.hilarioduran.com), Nick ¨ Brownman¨ Ali (award winning Latin Jazz trumpet player, www.brownman.com), Kc Roberts and Raw Blue (www.kcroberts.net ), Gary Grainger, Gerald Veasly, Lucho De Sedas (www.desedas.com), and the award winning Latin alternative band Plan C ( www.planc.ca).
Max is an experienced teacher and he is able to provide instruction in a wide range of musical styles and performance practices. In addition to his busy schedule as a performer and instructor, Max is currently completing a Bachelor of Music degree at Humber College.
