MIDI 1 & 2

This course will demonstrate how to identify all pieces of a modern MIDI studio and connect them properly. This will include computers as well as different types of electronic music devices including synthesizers, audio mixers, sound equipment and MIDI interfaces. Students will have an understanding of MIDI functions In, Out and Thru, and is quickly applied to 'hands-on' experience in the classroom. Students are given a solid foundation in all the terminology and skills to combine music and MIDI instruments and devices effectively using Cubase.

 

DIGITAL EDITING & MASTERING 1 & 2

This course in mastering and in digital editing will give students access to state-of-the-art production techniques to spruce up a demo or any recording. Students will learn how to used today's technology to further enhance and manipulate audio bringing it to its fullest.

 

MUSIC RECORDING 1 & 2

This course is for those students who wish to learn how to record and produce music. They will learn about consoles, signal routing, monitoring equalization, microphone types, signal processing, digital and analog formats, and multi-tracking. In addition, students will also learn about microphone and recording techniques, digital audio editing and hard disk recording.

 

MUSIC RECORDING 3 & 4

This course will focus on Mixing and recording techniques. Students will be guided though the stages of Pre-production to recording in the studio, to over-dubbing and mixing. They will also learn about communication and professionalism in the studio. Students will learn and deal with all the responsibilities involved in creating a successful recording session.

 

LIVE SOUND 5 & 6

This is a continuation of Recording 4. It is for those students wishing to learn and produce a live production. Students will be able to run and understand how a live sound system is set up and how all of its components are set to work with each other.

 

MUSIC PRODUCTION 3 & 4

Students will learn all the steps involved in the production of a CD. They will study the procedures and stages in recording, producing, mastering, reproducing, and marketing of their CD. This course is geared towards students who want to create their fist musical production, but don't know where to start or what things they should consider before starting.

 

MUSIC PRODUCTION 5 & 6

E-mail

In this course students will learn and take on the role of a Producer. They'll learn how to lead a very successful recording session in a practical way. Students will learn the techniques involved in recording different styles of music, over-dubbing, & mice placements.This course is for those students thinking about becoming music producers .

*Recording 3 &4 is required to take this course.
